Technical
We do two things, and we do them really well.
Firstly, our in-house consultants carry out the BLP Technical Review. We use our own industry-leading CACTUS system, aimed at minimising defects and driving up the quality of construction. This is what qualifies a scheme for the BLP insurance products. You can’t buy the insurance unless you pass our quality test.
Secondly, we provide our expertise separately from the insurance. Our core technical skills are in assessing the performance and durability characteristics of buildings and their systems. We carry out Durability Assessments that are recognised by lenders and by the Housing Corporation; they provide comfort on the long-term performance of unfamiliar or innovative systems.
And we do Whole Life Cost modelling, which helps clients make choices on the cost effective use of components and systems.
Our skills go hand-in-hand with our products. We don’t police you – we help you, because our objectives are the same.
