Component List
Note to users: We are in the process of updating references contained within the CDD. The industry references and data included in this resource were current when the CDD was first published and users should satisfy themselves that the standards and references are up to date and applicable for their use. Please confirm any discrepancies found to info@blpinsurance.com and we will correct these as soon as possible. Thank you.
The durability data in the CDD is organised in a list, which is structured hierarchically.
• Sections: each representing a major building element, for example Ground Floors and Pitched Roofs
• Component Types: the principal components comprising a section.
For example, the section on roofing includes membrane coverings, decking and structural timbers. Component types may be assemblies, such as boilers, or individual components, such as roofing tiles.
• Component Subtypes: a division of component types typically distinguished by material or function or some visually recognisable difference.
For example, roof membranes include asphalt and double layer bitumen membranes. Hydraulic and traction lifts would be distinguished.
The structure broadly corresponds to the industry standard – Uniclass structure. At component subtype level, detailed durability information is given relevant to that component subtype under their relevant Section and Component Type headings.
